American Sports Music Video

Rolling two things I love — hand lettering and the Arctic Monkeys — into one, creating a lyric video to the song “American Sports,” off of the 2017 album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is a concept album told through the futuristic lens of several inhabitants residing at a luxury resort on the moon. “American Sports” specifically looks at the speed of consumption, and desire to slow down. Using antique footage of American sports to align with the song title and juxtapose the futuristic feel of the album, I created frame-by-frame lettering and illustrative elements that become reactive to the contents of each clip.
